A Gladiator in the house

First performed at Salford Arts Theatre on 16th July 2009

Gallus, a retired commander in the appointed the new magistrate for
the town of Ostia when confronted
with the news that his wife Pulcheria
is an escaped slave and the
ownership of her has been acquired
by a money lender who desires
Livia,his daughter. Livia’s eyes
are on a famous gladiator whom
she helps to escape and presents
to her father as a merchant. Gallus
has less than two days to find a
way of avoiding losing either his
wife or daughter whilst Livia must
find a way to blend her gladiator
into society and avoid hermother,
Pulcheria , finding her a
‘respectable’ husband.

A visit to Eastern Europe

First performed at Salford Arts Theatre on 18th February 2010

A British businessman, a French businesswoman and two airline stewardesses (one German and one English) find themselves staying in the same hotel in a small East European country. Business and international rivalries spark some tensions and there are rifts amongst the hotel staff but the sudden effects of a military insurrection put all minor conflicts to one side as the hotel is sealed off and the hotel guests are forced to interact with the hotel staff as a military commissar commandeers the hotel and everyone has to adapt radically changing circumstances and roles.

The Waiting Room.

Becky is an adventurous teenager who falls to her death whilst exploring around some cliffs. She arrives in the next world and finds that it is not quite what she expected.Because of the sudden and unexpected nature of Becky's death at a very young age, she is allowed to return to Earth in another identity to experience a little more of earthly life before moving on to the next world.

tension and his wife Angela thinks
that a long weekend away will do
him a power of good. An
unsolicited flyer from a guesthouse
on a remote Scottish island leads
Terry and Angela on a journey that
will include a black-cloaked ghost,
abizarre mystic,a flamboyant
American film Director and a dodgy
B & B owner,who seems to have
his fingers in too many pies.

First performed at Salford Arts Theatre in 7th-9th July 2011 during the 'Not Part of' Festival.

Marcus, the former Gladiator, is now established as an olive farmer whilst Livia, his headstrong young wife, is a successful horse breeder. A mysterious trader from the East called Serapas seems to be unusally interested in the possiblity of exporting Livia's horses. Claudia, a glamorous merchant from Rome seems to interested in more than Marcus's olives and then an attempt is made on the life of Gallus, Livia's father and magistrate of Ostia. Is everyone all that they seem to be?
